Custom Complete Skateboards for Brands and How OEM Production Works

Custom Complete Skateboards for Brands and How OEM Production Works?

Custom complete skateboards are ready-to-ride boards built under your own brand. The deck, grip tape, trucks, wheels, bearings and packaging are all made to your spec. For a brand, they are the simplest way to put a finished product in a rider’s hands.

At Bubble Skatzz, we build complete setups for brands, distributors and skate shops from our factory in Huizhou, Guangdong, China. Since 2007 we have worked with more than 200 brands, from first-time startups to some of the biggest brands on the market. This guide explains OEM production of completed works, part by part, so you know what to plan before you place an order.

What Are Custom Complete Skateboards and Why Do Brands Sell Them?

A custom complete skateboard is a fully assembled board where every part carries your brand or your spec. Instead of selling a deck and leaving riders to find parts elsewhere, you sell the whole setup.

A complete has six main parts.

  1. Deck

  2. Grip tape

  3. Trucks

  4. Wheels

  5. Bearings

  6. Hardware and packaging

We can customize each of these at our factory. That matters because a complete is often the first board someone buys, and it shapes how they see your brand. If the wheels feel cheap or the trucks look generic, the whole board feels off-brand, even when the deck is great.

Completes also make life easier for the people who stock your products. A shop can hang one board on the wall and sell it ready to ride, with nothing extra to fit. That helps your boards reach riders who aren’t ready to build their own setup yet.

Who Buys Complete Skateboards and Which Setups to Offer First

Complete skateboards are mostly bought by beginners, parents shopping for kids, casual riders and shops that want ready-to-sell stock. Experienced riders buy them too when the parts are good enough to skate hard.

That’s why we build two main kinds of setups.

  • Beginner-friendly completes. Softer wheels and smaller shapes give an easy, forgiving ride for new and younger skaters.

  • Performance builds. Harder street wheels, proven street shapes and parts chosen for riders who skate every day.

Our customers are brands, distributors and skate shops, and each group buys a little differently. Brands want a signature look. Distributors want consistent stock they can reorder without surprises. Shops want setups that suit the riders who come through their door.

Our advice is to start with two or three completes rather than a full range. Once you see what sells, you can add surf skates and cruisers as separate lines. We build both, including cruisers with engineered veneer finishes for a more premium look.

Choosing the Deck Shape and Graphics for Your Custom Skateboards

Every complete starts with the deck, so this is where quality matters most. Our decks are pressed from 7 layers of premium Canadian maple from FSC-certified forests, for a good balance of strength, pop and durability. We can also work with birch or bamboo on request.

You can choose one of our existing shapes or create your own.

  • HMX mini molds run from 6.75" x 29" up to 7.875" x 30". They suit kids’ boards and smaller ones.

  • R series shapes run from 7.375" x 31" up to 9.0" x 32.5". They cover everything from narrow street boards to wide decks.

  • Custom shapes are cut on our high-precision CNC machines, from your own template or one we design with you. Tooling fees may apply for completely new shapes.

Every stock shape lists its width, length and wheelbase, so it’s easy to match a deck size to the rider you’re targeting.

For graphics, we offer screen printing, heat transfer and digital printing. You can send your own artwork or ask us to connect you with designers from our network. Adding graphics adds 3 to 5 days to production, so plan for that in your launch date.

Trucks, Bearings and Custom Skateboard Wheels That Match Your Brand

After the deck, wheels and trucks are the parts riders notice most, and both can carry your brand.

Our skateboard wheels come in multiple shapes, sizes, colors and hardness options, from soft cruiser wheels to hard street formulas. We focus on durability, smooth roll and clean finishes. These extra options are available for private label projects.

  • Custom branding and graphic printing

  • Pantone color matching

  • Your own wheel shape, made with a custom mold

Our trucks are made from high-grade materials using gravity-cast methods. They come in multiple sizes, finishes and colors, and you can choose branded or unbranded. Brands that want a truly unique look can also open a custom truck mold.

Bearings are part of our accessories range, and we can brand and package them for private label orders.

A quick tip from our factory team is to match wheel hardness to the type of setup. Softer wheels suit cruiser and beginner completes, and harder formulas suit street builds. Getting this right is one of the easiest ways to make a complete feel good on the first ride.

Finishing Touches With Custom Grip Tape, Hardware and Packaging

Small details are what make a complete feel finished. Our grip tape is made for strong grip, clean application and long-lasting performance, and it comes in different textures and colors.

You can customize it in several ways.

  • Full print designs

  • Glow-in-the-dark grip

  • Die-cut styles

  • Custom sizing

Beyond grip tape, we supply hardware kits, riser pads, bushings, T-tools, stickers and other promotional materials. All of them can be customized to match your brand. Custom branding and packaging are also available for private label orders.

Packaging is often the first thing a buyer sees in a shop, so treat it as part of the product, not an afterthought. For more ideas, browse our branded goods catalogue.

How an OEM Skateboard Manufacturer Builds Your Order Step by Step

Here is how an OEM skateboard manufacturer like Bubble Skatzz turns your order into finished boards.

  1. Master sheet cutting. Maple veneers are cut to size.

  2. Veneer dyeing. Veneers are dyed for colored plies.

  3. Drying. Veneers are dried before pressing.

  4. Deck pressing. Each deck is pressed in a single mold for 45 minutes or more.

  5. Hole drilling. The truck holes are drilled.

  6. CNC shaping. Decks are shaped on high-precision CNC machines.

  7. Sanding and buffing. Surfaces and edges are smoothed, then checked again during QC buffing.

  8. Varnishing. Automatic varnish lines give an even finish.

  9. Printing. Your graphics go on.

Quality is checked throughout, with wood inspection, lamination pressure monitoring, CNC precision checks and a final inspection. We keep detailed production records and can provide quality certificates on request. You can see photos of each stage on our production page.
